I grew up in Conroe where I was active with horses in my youth and college years.  It was this connection with horses that led me to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to discover a passion for teaching.  My Dad stopped one day to enquire about some horses that he noticed while working in the Houston area.  As the Lord would have it, the owner of the horses was the wife of the pastor who led me to faith in 1994.

While working on a degree in Animal Science at Texas A&M University, I taught horsemanship schools to 4-Hers throughout the state as part of a summer program with the Texas Agricultural Extension Service.  This awakened in me aptitude and excitement for teaching that I never knew I had.

After graduating from TAMU, I worked in 4-H and youth development, and then moved to North Texas where I taught in the Equine Science program at North Central Texas College.  It is during this time that my love for teaching about horses was transformed into a love for teaching the Bible, largely through the influence of Denton Bible Church where I attended during those years.  Following the Lord’s leading, I moved home to Conroe in 2003, and began work on a Masters degree in Biblical Studies through Dallas Theological Seminary.  I became the Pastor of Adult Discipleship at Conroe Bible Church in 2006, gaining valuable experience in adult spiritual growth and development.

I joined the team at All the King’s Horses in 2015. Here, I worked with at-risk youth, using horses as a means of assisting kids and sharing the gospel. During this time, I also completed a Master of Divinity from Grace School of Theology and got married to my beautiful wife Cindy.

It is my firm conviction that God created me for the purpose of communicating His Word. It is what lights my fire and what causes me to sense Jesus’ pleasure the most. My ambition in life is to please God—I do that best through teaching the Bible. There is no greater excitement than helping people cut through the haze which often surrounds Scripture by leading them to discover the truth and relevance of God's Word.

God is really great and the Bible really is alive! What a thrill to show this and then to walk with God’s people in genuineness and compassion, equipping them for love, growth, ministry, and intimate relationship with the Savior. It’s a privilege to do this at FBC Lovelady!
